Onion seed germination method

When germinating onions, you must first select high-quality seeds, then soak the seeds with cold water at 15 degrees Celsius, and then soak them in warm water at 50 to 55 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes. After cooling, soak them for 8 to 12 hours. Take them out and use a damp cloth. Wrap it well and place it at a constant temperature for 2 to 3 days to germinate.

If you want to germinate onions, you must first peel off the outer layer of the old skin, then put the onions into a clean container and add an appropriate amount of pure water just enough to touch the roots. Pay attention to controlling the temperature when waiting for the sprouts to sprout. Above 10 degrees Celsius, keep it well ventilated and well lit, so it will germinate quickly.

Onion seedling planting

The first step is to fertilize the land.

Choose sunny, warm, loose and fertile soil as the planting site, then apply decomposed farmyard manure or commercially available nutritional fertilizer, mix the soil and fertilizer evenly, then cover with fine soil, level it and wait for sowing.

The second step, sowing

Before sowing onion seeds, pour enough water into the soil. Wait until the water has completely penetrated and then sow the dry seeds. After sowing, cover with a layer of moist fine soil 1-1.5 cm thick.

The third step is to prevent and control pests and diseases.

During the seedling raising process, onions are often infested with seed flies, thrips, red spider mites, mole crickets, etc. They must be prevented and treated in time, otherwise the onions will suffer from purple spot disease, soft rot, etc.
